A Little Bit of Advice: A Niche Blog Built for Link Building and Content Authority
A Little Bit of Advice is a lifestyle blog developed in-house by the Coastal Marketing Strategies team. Unlike client-facing projects, this site was built from the ground up to serve a very specific purpose—support link-building efforts through quality, evergreen content. Focused on simple life advice, personal productivity, and everyday tips, the blog gives us a controlled platform where we can create useful articles and naturally reference client websites across a wide range of topics and industries. It’s not just a side project—it’s a strategic asset designed to strengthen off-site SEO for our ongoing campaigns.
The Challenge
Link building continues to be one of the more difficult and time-consuming parts of SEO. Relying entirely on outreach or third-party publishers limits consistency and quality. We wanted a space where we could produce clean, helpful content that allows us to reference client sites with contextual relevance—without needing to chase approvals or rely on external placement schedules. But in order for the platform to have value, it needed to be treated like a real publication. That meant building something with a strong foundation, consistent publishing, and search-focused structure.
The Approach
We launched A Little Bit of Advice using a lightweight WordPress setup optimized for speed and SEO. Every article is original, written to be informative and accessible, and designed to target long-tail keywords where possible. The site includes a mix of evergreen content, soft lifestyle advice, and light opinion pieces—broad enough to accommodate various client niches while staying cohesive in tone and focus. We built internal structures to support long-term scalability, including categories, tag taxonomies, and link-safe content formatting.
From a technical standpoint, we applied our full SEO services stack, including custom meta data, schema markup, optimized image delivery, and a well-structured sitemap. While the blog itself isn’t client-facing, it has become a reliable part of our internal strategy for delivering clean backlinks that add value—not spam. Our team has full editorial control, which means we can align links naturally with context and avoid over-optimization or forced placement. We also monitor its performance and use that data to fine-tune the blog’s structure and improve future content planning.
Over time, A Little Bit of Advice has evolved into more than just a place for links. It’s a working content platform that continues to grow in domain authority and gives us long-term flexibility in how we support our clients behind the scenes.
